Beginning February 23, 2022, Libby will replace the OverDrive app as the primary app for the Listen Up! Vermont Digital Library.
New users who search for “Libby,” “OverDrive,” or other related keywords in the app stores will find only Libby. Existing OverDrive app users won’t be affected by this change. They can continue borrowing and downloading content in the OverDrive app.
Kindle and E-Reader users and others will still be able to access the Overdrive website: www.overdrive.com for book and audiobook selections. Users can still browse, borrow, and enjoy titles from the OverDrive website.
Benefits of Libby:
Ease of set-up, follow a set of prompts
Unified bookshelf, patrons can view items downloaded from various devices
Support for multiple library cards
Access to direct user support
User can set up notification preferences for available requests and expiration warnings
Extras offer direct access to Kanopy a video streaming service provided by the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum and suggested books through curated booklists.
***Listen Up Vermont does not provide magazine access at this time.

Starting Monday, August 9, the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum Catalog will have an updated look. You will enjoy all the features you currently have with an account summary that displays all your checkouts, both physical and downloadables. The catalog is more organized, so all the various formats for an item are in one place. No more searching numbers of records until you find what you are looking for! You can access the Listen Up Vermont ebooks and audiobooks from the catalog too.
We are offering information sessions to help you with the new Catalog. Join us online Wednesday, August 18 at 5 pm for a ZOOM tour and overview of the updated Catalog (Sign up HERE). Or come to the Athenaeum Friday, August 20 at 2 pm for a live demonstration of the new Catalog.

The St. Johnsbury Athenaeum has increased Kanopy viewing credits from 2 to 4 per month starting in August. Kanopy is a video streaming service that provides instant access to thousands of critically-acclaimed movies, documentaries and kids' favorites. Kanopy partners with studios like A24, The Criterion Collection, PBS and more to bring your library access to thoughtful entertainment.
Kanopy now partners with major film studios, with the recent addition of Lionsgate and even more to come, such as Warner Brothers, to provide our patrons with access to hundreds of blockbusters, box office hits, and must-see award-winning films.
