Secondhand Prose August 2025 Children's Book Giveaway!
For the whole month of August, Secondhand Prose is giving away children's books! FREE! To classroom teachers looking to enhance your classroom library; librarians looking to plug gaps in your children's collection; home-school families looking for reading material for your home students; and of course, CHILDREN!
● Up to 20 books per teacher, home schooler, or librarian.
● Up to 3 books per individual child.

Donating books to Secondhand Prose:
We gratefully accept book donations during store hours: Monday-Saturday, 11am-3pm, EXCEPT:
No donations the 1st - 7th of every month, so we can get caught up with your generosity!
We accept up to 2 medium boxes or bags of books per donation.
We accept clean, good quality books, appropriate for resale. Ask yourself: “Would I buy this book?”
We can not accept:
Encyclopedias
Textbooks
Magazines
Video & Audio media

Volunteering at Secondhand Prose:
Our all-volunteer staff is responsible for greeting and assisting customers, managing book inventory, handling customer cash donations, maintaining well-ordered shelves in the public space, evaluating and accepting donated books, sorting and shelving books, and promoting the store.
