Corona Virus Updates

At the Athenaeum we are practicing due diligence in relation to the WIFI service we are providing to the community 24/7.

The signal is monitored daily and when people have expressed a problem, the Director comes into St. J to make sure it’s working. So far, in every instance the WIFI has been operational and the signal robust. Please report lack of connectivity to Bob Joly, bjoly@stjathenaeum.org. When problems are expressed in this public forum, there is the potential of missing someone's concern.

Here are some things to check in case you are having difficulties:

  • Make sure your WIFI is on and can accept other networks.

  • Try going to your WIFI settings and accept the Athenaeum Public option; the Athenaeum Private choice is for staff only.

  • If you do not see Athenaeum Public as an option you will need to move closer to the building.

  • When you access the Internet the Athenaeum Accept certificate will appear, click Accept.

  • If the certificate does not appear, type wlc.lib.vt.us all in lowercase in the url address box. This is another way to access the accept certificate page.

The Athenaeum Staff is monitoring the development of the Covid-19 Virus in Vermont. Like you, we are uncertain how the situation will change in the near future. For now, the Athenaeum is closed as we follow Governor Scott’s Stay Home, Stay Safe Directive.


The situation could change suddenly so check here often. We will post any changes to our programming or open hours here, on our FB page, and via emails.

During this time:  no fines occur, all items are renewed until June 1, return books to the bookdrop in the parking lot or keep them home until we reopen.  We are not processing any Interlibrary loans until we reopen.

We have many digital resources and will be adding more all the time.
